	AIA GREEN BUILDING AWARDS 2008 Each project in the 2008 "Top Ten Green Projects" awards by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on the Environment (COTE) was evaluated on ten measures, documented extensively on the COTE web site. These include design innovation, community context and land use, longevity, bioclimatic design, water and energy conservation, materials, and indoor environment. 	AIA PORTLAND DESIGN AWARDS 2007 Portland, Oregon, has traditionally kept a low architectural style profile compared to other West Coast cities of the United States, such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle, with their array of landmarks by star architects. But this river city is becoming a hot commodity. Numerous publications have christened Portland as America's greenest city. 	AUSTRALIAN GOLD FOR RICHARD JOHNSON Over the course of his 38-year career, Richard Johnson, designer of many major cultural buildings in Sydney, has worked on scales ranging from exhibit design to urban design. His projects have included world expo pavilions, museums, embassies, schools, office buildings, hotels, master plans, and landscape design, many with his current firm, Johnson Pilton Walker of Sydney. The Australian architect has been awarded the 2008 Gold Medal for Architecture by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA). — Published 2008.0423
	PALLADIO AWARDS 2008 The Fonville Press, a cafe and bookstore in the Florida panhandle, combines a 600-square-foot (56-square-meter) shop with two exterior courts. The serenely stylish facility earned Khoury & Vogt Architects one of ten Palladio Awards for 2008. — Published 2008.0409
	JEAN NOUVEL PRITZKER PRIZE In a world where so much contemporary construction is so repetitively mundane, in the majority, and so dissociatively egotistical, in the contrasting minority, it is a deepening pleasure to celebrate poetically bold, eloquently sensitive, contextually beautiful work. And that's just the celebration we find in the 2008 Pritzker Prize award to Jean Nouvel of France. — Published 2008.0402
	AIA HOUSING AWARDS 2008 Urban Infill 02 is a prototype for affordable single-family housing designed by Johnsen Schmaling Architects for a small urban lot in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Two interlocking modular forms compose the house: a two-story wood-clad cube and a bar-shaped, single-story concrete block. — Published 2008.0326
	LIVABLE BUILDINGS AWARDS The inaugural Livable Buildings Awards spotlight buildings that excel not only in design and resource efficiency, but also in user satisfaction. Initiated in 2007 by the Center for the Built Environment (CBE) at the University of California, Berkeley, the awards program recognizes buildings that have been evaluated using CBE's Occupant Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Survey and received one of the topmost scores. — Published 2008.0312
