M-CH
A few lucky students in Europe have experienced the "micro-compact home" (m-ch), an aluminum cube that offers the basics of modern living in less than 665 cubic feet (19 cubic meters). They are appreciating that living in small quarters doesn't have to cramp their style. Published 2006.1018

BACKSTAGE MATTERS
I have noticed as a professional actor — an observation reinforced in my work as a registered architect, specializing in theater design consulting — that the same shortcomings in backstage design occur time and again. L.A. URBAN
"Downtown L.A." may not be an oxymoron much longer, because when the construction dust finally settles, the sprawling metropolis of Los Angeles, California will have its own urban center. Ten years ago nobody would have believed it, but since an adaptive reuse ordinance was adopted in 1999 to eliminate many regulatory barriers, construction investment in downtown L.A. has ballooned to $12.2 billion. This according to a study released in February 2006 by the Downtown Center Business Improvement District (DCBID). Published 2006.0607
