	GAP HOUSE, LONDON Placed improbably between a pair of historical listed buildings, the contemporary facade of Gap House is a mere 2.4 meters (7.9 feet) wide. 	HADID - STIRLING PRIZE FOR EVELYN GRACE ACADEMY For the second year in a row, the top British architecture prize has been awarded to a building designed by Zaha Hadid. 	THE SAGE GATESHEAD BY NORMAN FOSTER At the time the Sage Gateshead opened in 2004, Foster + Partners was often asked by the media whether they had set out to create a new icon for Tyneside — the conurbation that includes Newcastle, Gateshead and adjacent cities on the banks of the River Tyne. The architects replied that their overriding intention had been to create a series of spaces that would prove functionally and aesthetically hospitable to a range of carefully specified uses. — Published 2011.0928

Wrapped in a sleek, sculptural, and amazing new skin, the complex new transformation by Amanda Levete Architects (ALA) has created a larger, more comfortable, and better-performing building, from the actual built fabric of that preexisting jumble. — Published 2010.0915
	10 WEYMOUTH STREET, LONDON In central London, a renovation by Make Architects gives a radical new aesthetic and improved energy efficiency to an unremarkable 1960s apartment building. The basic project outline for 10 Weymouth Street might not seem glamorous — upgrading a concrete-framed postwar housing block, with an addition overlooking the mews — but in the hands of Make, the results are golden. — Published 2010.0707
	STIRLING PRIZE FOR ACCORDIA HOUSING Pairing sensitively designed housing with generous open space, the architects of Accordia created an enduring residential development in Cambridge, United Kingdom, that embodies the inherent sustainability of livable communities. Their careful efforts have earned Accordia the Stirling Prize for 2008. Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios designed the project with Maccreanor Lavington and Alison Brooks Architects.
