Dear Designers, Builders, and Friends,

Green Wednesday, by the editors of ArchitectureWeek, brings you
weekly green design and building news from around the world.
This issue is again sponsored happily by ZweigWhite:

The "2008 Best Architecture Firms To Work For" ranking is now
accepting entries, co-sponsored by ArchitectureWeek. Want to
find out where your firm stands among the competition?
     To get started, visit:
     http://www.archweek.com/ad.cgi?zweigwhite.com/bestfirm/17

The deadline to submit the corporate survey is April 4th, 2008.
Give your firm the recognition it deserves!

An intriguing new awards program from UC Berkeley (this editor's
alma mater) combines formal post-occupancy evaluations with
several dimensions of green building and design:

"Initiated in 2007 by the Center for the Built Environment
(CBE) at the University of California, Berkeley, the
Livable Buildings awards program recognizes buildings that
have been evaluated using CBE's Occupant Indoor Environmental
Quality (IEQ) Survey and received one of the topmost scores.

"The IEQ survey invites occupants to evaluate a building
in several areas, including lighting, thermal comfort,
air quality, acoustic quality, office layout, and general
satisfaction, as well as furnishings and cleanliness. ..."

I'd also like to share some new features of our blog center, aka
"the blogatorium", which features new green building postings
every day.

The basic idea of the ArchWeek blog center is to bring together
dozens of independent architecture-related blogs into one
collection, organized together. With these new features, and
your participation, the blog center is really coming into its own.

   http://www.ArchitectureWeek.com/blogs/

You can view all the entries sorted together for the more-than-
two-dozen included blogs by...

   - Most Recent (timeliness, by date and time of publication)
   - Highest Rated (quality, by ArchitectureWeek reader star ratings)
   - Most Visited (popularity, by clickthroughs of ArchitectureWeek readers)

And you can use these same options for any of the individual blogs.
Some of the busy group blogs are active enough that extra sorting
and sifting can be really helpful!

There's also a link to suggest any great blog we haven't connected
up with yet.

Joining the list to get this weekly is always free. And please
write to us directly anytime, at "editor at architectureweek.com".

Best wishes,

Kevin Matthews

ArchitectureWeek is a green publication. By publishing
this professional design and building magazine online-only,
we save about 48 tons of paper monthly, 50 large trees
every week, or 2500 trees a year, compared to reaching a similar
readership on paper - not counting these newsletters!
We provide ongoing pro-bono services to local non-profit
sustainability organizations. And our company offices are
powered by 100% wind energy through our local utility:
