Green Wednesday 2008.0305

Dear Designers, Builders, and Friends,

Green Wednesday, by the editors of ArchitectureWeek, brings you
weekly green design and building news from around the world.

Building (UK) brings us some interesting discussion around Foster's
new Terminal 3 building at Beijing Capital International Airport...

Beijing airport is supposed to be sustainable. I am not
really sure what a sustainable airport is. It is not
particularly reassuring (except for airport builders, no
doubt) to discover that China is planning to build a few
more airports over the next 10 years – well, 97 more
airports, in fact. Will all these be sustainable? Or will
they be built by the home team on the Trabant model?
	Airports, like motorways, generate traffic.

ArchitectureWeek is a green publication. By publishing
this professional design and building magazine online-only,
we save about 48 tons of paper monthly, 50 large trees
every week, or 2500 trees a year, compared to reaching a similar
readership on paper - not counting these newsletters!
We provide ongoing pro-bono services to local non-profit
sustainability organizations. And our company offices are
powered by 100% wind energy through our local utility:
