Dear Designers, Builders, and Dwellers,

Green Wednesday, by the editors of ArchitectureWeek, brings you
weekly green design and building news from around the world.

Seattle, Washington appears to be really stepping up...

Seattle is poised to become one of the first cities to
require large construction projects - whether condos or
freeways - to account for their greenhouse gas emissions.

...Those choices could include requiring buildings to be
more energy-efficient, charging fees for projects with large
carbon footprints or possibly even rejecting permits.

The City Council, in a unanimous vote Monday, took a first
step toward regulation. In March, city departments will
start evaluating greenhouse gas emissions - from the energy
used to make concrete to pollution from cars that a
building's residents drive - when reviewing proposed
	projects. ...

The Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee simply radiates

efficient, respectful, and delightful structure, and more.

GreenBuild 2007 Conference - ArchitectureWeek, 2007.1128

More than two hours before the 9 a.m. opening session
for Greenbuild was set to begin in Chicago's McCormick
Place conference center, that largest of U.S. convention
centers (in square footage) was already bursting at the
seams. If you were looking to register for the

If coffee tempted, the line at the in-house Starbucks
snaked all the way into a sky bridge around the corner
	from the store.

ArchitectureWeek is a green publication. By publishing
this professional design and building magazine online-only,
we save about 48 tons of paper monthly, 50 large trees
every week, or 2500 trees a year, compared to reaching a similar
readership on paper - not counting these newsletters!
We provide ongoing pro-bono services to local non-profit
sustainability organizations. And our company offices are
powered by 100% wind energy through our local utility:
