Dear Designers, Builders, and Dwellers,

Green Wednesday, by the editors of ArchitectureWeek, brings you
weekly news on green design and building from around the world.

The biggest event this week related to green building will come on
Friday, as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
releases a keenly-awaited major update to its powerful report. As
we close in on the release, with final editing underway behind
closed doors, rumors abound - along with a rich harvest of other news!

"Later this week in Paris, climate scientists will issue a
dire forecast for the planet that warns of slowly rising sea
levels and higher temperatures. But that may be the
	sugarcoated version.

"Early and changeable drafts of their upcoming authoritative
report on climate change foresee smaller sea level rises
than were projected in 2001 in the last report. Many top
U.S. scientists reject these rosier numbers. Those
calculations don't include the recent, and dramatic,
melt-off of big ice sheets in two crucial locations:

"They 'don't take into account the gorillas -- Greenland
and Antarctica,' said Ohio State University earth sciences
professor Lonnie Thompson, a polar ice specialist. 'I think
there are unpleasant surprises as we move into the 21st
	century.'"

ArchitectureWeek is a green publication. By publishing
this professional design and building magazine online-only,
we save about 48 tons of paper monthly, or about 50 large
trees-worth every week, compared to reaching a similar
readership on paper - not counting these newsletters!
We provide ongoing pro-bono services to local non-profit
sustainability organizations. And our company offices are
powered by 100% wind energy through our local utility:
