Dear designers, builders, and dwellers,

Welcome to the first issue of Green Wednesday, a new weekly
newsletter on green design and building, brought to you by
ArchitectureWeek!

Each Wednesday we'll bring together the latest green building
information from around the Web, with a dose of ArchWeek attitude
and intelligence, plus of course the best of our own ongoing
sustainability coverage.

Green and Sustainable Design and Building News This Week
--------------------------------------------------------
The stories we've collected this week document the shrinking cost
differential for green building and sustainable energy investments,
as well as the usual - and still fascinating - parade of new LEED
and green projects.

Don't miss at least the first half of James Howard Kunstler's
pungent philosophical "reflection on cities of the future" - even if
he does seem to overlook the other, humanist tradition in modernism,
in the glory of sharply drawing his picture. And the Gotham coverage
detailing green concerns during the construction process is important.

ArchitectureWeek is a green publication. By publishing
this professional design and building magazine online-only,
we save about 48 tons of paper monthly, or about 50 big
trees-worth every week, compared to reaching a similar
readership on paper - not counting these newsletters!
We provide ongoing pro-bono services to local non-profit
sustainability organizations. And our company offices are
powered by 100% wind energy through our local utility:
