Dear Designers, Builders, and Dwellers,

Residential Tuesday brings you top housing news and analysis weekly
in this free email newsletter from the editors of ArchitectureWeek.

There's more than one way to get things done. And sometimes how
we're doing things is worth another look. Here, another look was
taken for a new deveopment in Wales...

Fewer new houses are being built in Wales than at any
time since World War II, according to the Home Builders
	Federation.

But on Anglesey an unusual housing development is shaping
up that may provide a solution - and it's timber-framed.

Dan-wood, originally a Danish company, has been building
timber-framed houses all over northern Europe for 45
years. But the concept is new to Wales, where 99% of
	housing is bricks and mortar.

Tackling Climate Change - ArchitectureWeek, 2008.0423
http://www.architectureweek.com/2008/0423/index.html
Just about a year ago, Al Gore rocked the national AIA
Convention in San Antonio with a climactic final keynote
address, and received a prolonged standing ovation from
thousands of architects who had lined up for hours to get
	in.
Gore expressed the compelling case on global climate
change, anchoring the powerful presentation with this
silver spur to action for design professionals:
Never before in the history of our species has the
opportunity and responsibility to decisively affect the
continuation of life as we know it lain in the hands of a
single profession, as it does today with architects.
