Dear Designers, Builders, and Dwellers,

Residential Tuesday brings you top housing news and analysis weekly
in this free email newsletter from the editors of ArchitectureWeek.

Probably most of us are still involved, at one level or another, with
calibrating our budgets and operations to these still-unfolding,
challenging market conditions...

	U.S. construction spending fell a sharper-than-expected
1.7 percent in January, led by a fall-off in private home
building, government data on Monday showed in a report
that marked a continued decline in the housing market.

	January's decline to a $1.121 trillion seasonally
adjusted annual rate was the sharpest since a 3.6 percent
deceleration in January 1994 and marked the fourth
	straight monthly drop.

Analysts polled by Reuters before the report were
expecting construction spending to fall 0.7 percent.
December spending was revised lower to a 1.3 percent
decline from the 1.1 percent drop previously reported...

floated behind serenely, like a successful, rather
	conservative older cousin.
