Dear Designers, Builders, and Dwellers,

Residential Tuesday brings you top housing news and analysis
every week in this free email newsletter from the editors of
ArchitectureWeek.

The couple realized the house would be a long-term project -
25 years was their estimate. They welcomed the challenge
of undoing years of questionable design decisions: woodwork
painted bright pink or blue, linoleum laid down over wood
floors and plaster walls covered with faux wood paneling.

Soon after closing on the place, they set up a Web site,
Casa Decrepit, to document their progress. "We wanted to
show our friends and family," Cragg said, "that we weren't..."

"Lazy," Sercan chimed in, with a laugh...

These days, almost anyone can maintain a free blog. And
renovation blogs have become an increasingly popular way to
share a story of sweat equity. Bloggers and readers are able
to commiserate, educate and cheer each other on.

is the Sunset Breezehouse shown here, or they can be

this professional design and building magazine online-only,
we save about 48 tons of paper monthly, or about 50 large
trees-worth every week, compared to reaching a similar
readership on paper - not counting these newsletters!
We provide ongoing pro-bono services to local non-profit
sustainability organizations. And our company offices are
