Dear Designers, Builders, and Dwellers,
Residential Tuesday brings you top housing news and analysis
every week in this free email newsletter from the editors of
ArchitectureWeek.
'Teresa Elsbernd, attending a recent public hearing at
Minnetonka City Hall, didn't seem quite sure what to think
about the increasing number of supersized homes being built
in the city's established neighborhoods. On her first trip
to the microphone, the homebuilder described the city's
so-called "McMansion" policy -- which restricts the ratio of
house size to lot size -- as unnecessary. After listening to
other speakers, however, she returned to the podium to say
there are "a lot of bad builders" out there -- and that
Minnetonka's new rules won't help as much as worried
residents might hope.'

ArchitectureWeek is a green publication. By publishing
this professional design and building magazine online-only,
we save about 48 tons of paper monthly, or about 50 big
trees-worth every week, compared to reaching a similar
readership on paper - not counting these newsletters!
We provide ongoing pro-bono services to local non-profit
sustainability organizations. And our company offices are
powered by 100% wind energy through our local utility.
