Dear Designers, Builders, and Dwellers,
Residential Tuesday brings you top housing news and analysis
every week in this free email newsletter from the editors of
ArchitectureWeek.
U.S. elections returns aren't in yet, but it seems a majority
of Americans may now be ready to vote for energy efficiency
with their wallets:
"According to a quarterly survey by the American
Institute of Architects, requests to home planners for
energy-efficient housing features leapt from 38 percent
to 54 percent from 2005 to 2006... Are they willing to
put some money behind their concerns? The AIA poll
indicates that 90 percent would be willing to pay
$5,000 more for a house that would use less energy."
Energy, okay, good! But is American housing ready yet for modernism?
Well, maybe in New York...

ArchitectureWeek is a green publication. By publishing
this professional design and building magazine online-only,
we save about 48 tons of paper monthly, or about 50 big
trees-worth every week, compared to reaching a similar
readership on paper - not counting these newsletters!
We provide ongoing pro-bono services to local non-profit
sustainability organizations. And our company offices are
powered by 100% wind energy through our local utility.
