HOUSE ON RED HILL
    by Jennifer LeClaire
    http://www.ArchitectureWeek.com/today.html
    http://www.ArchitectureWeek.com/2007/0411/design_1-1.html

The abstract expressionist painter Robert Motherwell once
said, "Art is much less important than life, but what a
poor life without it." Those words convey the inspiration
behind much of the work of Christopher Harty and Chris
	Botterill.

Harty and Botterill are principals of Christopherchris
Architecture, a Melbourne-based firm that designed the
Red Hill Residence for a young family relocating from a
busy city to Australia's peaceful Mornington Peninsula,
in southern Victoria. The region is known for its lavish
cliff-top mansions, lazy beachside vacationers, grand
historic gardens, and lively local markets.

Indeed, the architects' zeal for contemporary art, music,
and technology contributed to an architectural design
that amplifies these pleasures of life.

"Red Hill is the culmination of ideas and interpretations
we have been considering over many years," says
Botterill. He and Harty had worked under some of
Australia's best known architects and developed ideas
about how to roll modern architecture into an
environmentally conscious building. The result is the Red
Hill Residence, their first major completed project.

Modular Modes
    by Sheri Koones
    http://www.ArchitectureWeek.com/2007/0411/building_1-1.html

Modular houses are composed of one or more sections that
are factory built, transported by truck, and set on a
foundation. Modular houses may be made of two modules, as
is the Sunset Breezehouse shown here, or they can be
assembled from a kit of prefabricated parts.

Saving the Taj Mahal
    by Ian Morley
    http://www.ArchitectureWeek.com/2007/0411/culture_1-1.html

Cities are often symbolized by their prominent buildings.
For example, it is hard to contemplate Sydney without
thinking of the Opera House by Jorn Utzon or Barcelona
without recalling the works by Antoni Gaudi.
