2012-13 Fabric in Architecture Competition

This competition is to develop a design for an exterior fabric structures used at a resort hotel and outdoor recreational area. Fabric design offers students great benefits in this endeavor, as it is ideal for use outside without sacrificing flexibility and aesthetic lightness, multi-story buildings, and protection from the environment.
Along with design considerations, projects should respond to location (suburban, downtown, desert), climate (sun, wind, light and water), and culture (patterns of interaction rising from human occupation of place). Projects should be designed in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.
