An illustrated account of the previously unknown Krefeld Villas, a pair of neighboring brick residences designed by Mies Van Der Rohe and built from 1927 to 1930. Their anonymity may have been Mies's preference. In 1959, he quipped that he would have preferred to use more glass, but the clients objected. This guide through the two villas shows them as they now exist, converted into a joined museum of contemporary art.
