NATIONAL AIA AWARDS On a corner site in Manhattan, within the Greenwich Village Historic District, stands a new 11-story apartment building wrapped in ribbons of glass. The faceted, undulating facade creates a lively contemporary foil to the neighboring masonry structures while reflecting their facades and the greenery of Jackson Square Park. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, this building is one of 27 projects honored by the American Institute of Architects in its AIA Institute Honor Awards for 2011. — Published 2011.0223
	AIA MICHIGAN AWARDS 2010 The Richmond Center for Visual Arts in Kalamazoo is striking, with building forms tied to its arts hub functions. Copper cladding, curving in two dimensions, wraps the lobby and front exhibit areas, setting off a large glazed facade section that allows natural light deep into the space. The lightness of the glass and copper, and of zinc that wraps the lecture areas, contrasts with the visual weight of the precast concrete panels cladding the rest of the building. — Published 2010.0811

	PACIFIC NORTHWEST AIA AWARDS 2008 Built in the 1950s, Woodway Residence north of Seattle was reimagined for a young family by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. 	CONCEPTUALLY IN BETWEEN Architects and glass artists in Portland, Oregon collaborated in designing and building chandeliers in a 2001 project called Multiplied Light.
