    NEW ARCHITECTURE IN NEW ORLEANS

    Located on one of the busiest thoroughfares in the Central Business District of New Orleans, the apartment building at 930 Poydras was designed to translate the dense, communal atmosphere of the French Quarter into a tower.

    To achieve that effect, architecture firm Eskew+Dumez+Ripple incorporated generous, well designed common spaces into the 250-unit, 21-story building.

    PALLADIO AWARDS 2011

    Hurricanes were a primary concern for Michael G. Imber Architects when the firm designed a traditionally styled home for the new Beachtown development in Galveston, Texas.

    Located on the Gulf of Mexico, the vacation-home development combines New Urbanist architecture and planning with systematic fortification against the fierce storms.

    AIA/ALA LIBRARY AWARDS 2011

    In an urban district of Little Rock along the Arkansas River, the Arkansas Studies Institute occupies a facility befitting the study of state history. Two neglected buildings from the 1880s and 1910s were repaired and combined with a new addition to form one consolidated facility that houses over ten million historic documents.

    BNIM - AIA FIRM OF THE YEAR

    To become one of the first two buildings to receive full recognition under the Living Building Challenge, the Omega Center for Sustainable Living in Rhinebeck, New York, had to meet a stringent set of criteria, including generating all its energy from renewable resources, and capturing and treating all water used onsite.
