    Steadman on the Burj

    ArchWeek Image

The Burj Al Arab in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with its signature spinnaker sail form, as seen by Ralph Steadman. Another Burj in Dubai bears some resemblance to the mile-high skyscraper imagined by Frank Lloyd Wright. Image: Ralph Steadman

    Dear Editor,

I long for the day when someone says — "Let's have no more wars!! — in Afghanistan or anywhere else!" Instead, let's set about constructing the Mile High Frank Lloyd Wright building somewhere in the centre of the United States — say — DENVER? and call it — "THE PEACE BUILDING"!!

The money saved from all that military expenditure would pay for it — if not two of them! — but I just dream of seeing ONE!!!

I am no Architect, of course. I love ideas that blow the mind. I am a simple Artist — it's what I do.......

All in favour shout — "WOW!!"

    Peace and Love to everyone,

    Ralph STEADman
