    Quizzical Pursuit
    —The Architecture Puzzler

    Created by Dave Guadagni

    Solution to Last Week's Puzzler
    Architecture Puzzler #463

    Question

Which of the following lamp types is the least energy-efficient? Why would you choose to use this lamp type given its poor efficiency?
    A. Mercury
    B. Sodium
    C. Incandescent
    D. Fluorescent

    Answer

Of these four lamp types, incandescent is the least efficient. However, this type is low-cost, has instant start and restart capability, is dimmable, and has good color rendition.
