Solution to Last Week's Puzzler
Architecture Puzzler #455
Question
What is "specific heat"?
Answer
Specific heat is the ability of a material to store heat in relation to the material's weight. This is important, since different materials are capable of storing different amount of heat, even when they are at the same temperature. When you multiply the specific heat of a material by its weight, you can calculate the material's thermal capacity.
