PLATINUM SIDE OF DOCKSIDE GREEN The sustainability goal for Dockside Green, a mixed-use project in Victoria, Canada, is no less than LEED Platinum certification for every one of the project's 26 buildings. So far, so good: the project's first residential phase, designed by Busby Perkins + Will, recently received its platinum star from the USGBC. Sustainable features of the 15-acre (six-hectare) project, developed by Vancity and Windmill West, range from a biomass gasification plant that runs on wood waste to an integrated onsite wastewater treatment system.
