Acme's Lean, Green Brick
Acme Brick engineers have developed a new brick design that increases the area of core holes from 25 percent to 33 percent of the brick's total volume, reducing the weight of the brick by ten percent. This "lean/ green" king-size brick will save manufacturing and transportation costs while offering the same performance qualities as other Acme bricks, which offer excellent thermal insulation and can last over 100 years. Available in the full range of existing Acme colors.

Safety-Laminated Color-Coated Glass
Bendheim Color-Coated glass is now available in safety-laminated form. Lamination protects the colored surface and ensures the safety of building occupants, making the glasses ideal for use in partitions and stair railings. The color-coated glass production uses isocyanate-free paints, which minimize VOC emissions for improved indoor air quality while creating durable, UV-resistant coatings. Colors can be fused to practically any type of glass for exterior cladding, interior feature walls, bathroom and kitchen backsplashes, and furniture. Nine new colors have been added to the standard palette, including deep fuchsia, bright orange, signal red, royal blue, and hunter green. Sample sets available.

Structural Radiant Subfloor
Warmboard® radiant-heat subfloor combines a structural subfloor and a radiant panel into one component for radiant heating systems. A modular pattern of channels is cut into the top surface of a high-strength tongue-and-groove plywood sheet. A thick sheet of aluminum is then permanently bonded to each panel, providing a highly conductive surface. Low thermal mass ensures faster heating. Most framing details and structural considerations are identical to structures built without radiant heating. The panels can be glued, screwed, or nailed to the floor joists. Labor costs comparable to the installation of a standard subfloor. Panels can be cut with a standard circular saw with a carbide blade.
