HOUSING AWARDS FROM AIA AND HUD

The AIA/HUD Secretary Awards recognize housing projects that demonstrate the potential of mixed-use and mixed-income developments. K Lofts in San Diego, California, designed by Jonathan Segal FAIA Architect, recently received the 2008 award for affordable housing (photo by Paul Body). Sponsored by the AIA Housing and Custom Residential Knowledge Community and the Office of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the annual awards program also recognizes excellence in neighborhood design, participatory design, and accessibility. Next week we'll take a closer look at the four winning projects for 2008.
