Solution to Last Week's Puzzler
Architecture Puzzler #388
Question
Why do you typically want to keep concrete from freezing during the first 24 hours after placement?
Answer
The water in concrete can freeze, and if it does, it will stop the chemical curing process and keep the concrete from reaching design strength.
