Solution to Last Week's Puzzler
Architecture Puzzler #382
Question
A cyclorama is a large, curved, seamless, white or pale blue backdrop used in theater design to represent the sky or to provide a surface on which abstract colors and patterns can be projected from stage lighting fixtures. Cycloramas are typically made from either cloth or plaster. Which of these materials is usually better for this application?
Answer
Cloth is typically the preferred material, since plaster, once cracked or marred, is very difficult to repair adequately for this application.
