Dear ArchitectureWeek,
Party at the BPL!
A great concept — hold the host chapter party for the 2008 AIA Convention in the time-honored halls of the Boston Public Library, the 1895 Charles McKim masterpiece on historic Copley Square — and great execution with fine food, drink, and folks, and no fewer than seven live music groups variously rocking, syncopating, and harp-charming the great book-lined rooms — made for a totally memorable experience, served up perfectly by the Boston Society of Architects, their able staff, and many kind sponsors.
With dancing in the courtyard, open exhibits for exploring, and new friends to be made at every turn, the only regret is that it had to end.
On the road in Beantown,
Kevin Matthews
