DuPont™ Corian® has launched the Terra Collection, a selection of surfaces made with recycled materials. The collection includes 25 colors with third-party-certified levels of pre-consumer recycled content: seven colors contain at least 13 percent recycled content, and 18 colors contain at least six percent. These low-VOC emitting, nonporous, long-lasting surface materials are GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® and also carry the GREENGUARD for Children & Schools℠ certification. The Terra Collection can contribute points toward the LEED® Materials and Resources Credit for Recycled Content, in addition to the LEED points that all Corian surfaces can help contribute |

RedEye ARC, a new division of RedEye RPM™, produces 3D scaled replica models of residential and commercial buildings. Fused deposition modeling® technology offers time and cost savings over traditional modeling methods. The plastic models are accurate, durable, and interactive, allowing clients to remove floors to view each interior floor plan and its features. Because the models are built from the bottom up, details such as stone, tile, appliances, and fixtures are possible, helping architects to easily communicate designs to their clients. |

Benjamin Moore has launched Aura™, a fully acrylic interior paint that features ColorLock™ binding technology. The paint is GREENGUARD-certified for containing under 50 grams per liter of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) — chemicals that contribute to indoor air pollution. A waterborne colorant system ensures that no additional VOCs are introduced when colorant is added to the paint. ColorLock makes the paint self-priming, with no more than two coats required, and also produces a very smooth finish, allowing seamless touchup. The paint is available in matte, eggshell, and satin finishes, and in all 3,300 existing Benjamin Moore colors, plus an additional new 144 hues from the Affinity Color Collection. An exterior version is expected in spring 2008. |

Thermique™ heated glass technology transforms ordinary glass into a heating device for eliminating cold areas near windows. A transparent coating on the glass generates heat when subjected to an electrical current. The current is supplied by two buss bars located on opposite sides of the glass. All electrical components are hidden within the window frame. A patented controller mounts on the wall like a light switch, and allows adjustment of the window temperature. The coated glass radiates heat uniformly, with precise temperature control, and remains completely transparent, without any distortion or discoloration. Heated windows offer the added benefit of a clear view by eliminating condensation, fogging, and frost. |
