Marlite Inc. introduces Myriad™ Wall Systems, a system of interchangeable decorative panels in extruded aluminum framework. Designed for retail stores, restaurants, and other commercial and institutional interiors, the panels quickly snap in and out of the frames without special tools. The system allows for the mixing and matching of panels, and enables the quick transformation of an environment to accommodate seasonal or other changes. Available panel materials include wood and metal veneers, decorative laminates, stone, and fabric, as well as transparent and translucent acrylic for backlighting. The hardware is available in radius and flat profiles, and with clear satin or black satin anodized finishes. The frames can hold panels as large as 32 by 48 inches (81 by 122 centimeters) and up to three-fourths of an inch (1.9 centimeters) thick.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator, the maker of space-saving TWIN elevators, offers an innovative glass dual-car elevator system with panoramic views, as installed in the Main Triangel building in Frankfurt, Germany (pictured). The basic system places two elevator cars in the same shaft, arranged one above the other. The cars can run independently, at different speeds and in different directions, providing efficient transportation. New technical developments allow elevators with glass cabs to run in an open shaft. Air conditioning, underfloor heating, and heating elements in the glass walls maintain passenger comfort. TWIN systems are designed for use in combination with at least one conventional elevator to make it possible to travel from the ground to the top floor.
