Solution to Last Week's Puzzler
Architecture Puzzler #370
Question
What is a "short Norman"?
Answer
A "short Norman" is the proper term for today's "modular" brick. The original Norman (long Norman) laid 12 inches (30.5 centimeters), and the short Norman lays eight inches (20.3 centimeters) in length. The other dimensions of a short Norman match the original Norman brick: four inches by two and two-thirds inches (10.1 by 6.75 centimeters).
