Introducing the Norman Foster Chair

Emeco, the Aluminum Chair Company, introduces an aluminum chair, stool, and table set designed by Foster and Partners. It has been selected by the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum for its 2006 Triennial. The sleek new chair features a slim, modern, all-aluminum frame weighing 5-1/2 pounds (2.5 kilograms), with a tensile strength three times greater than that of steel. Constructed in the United States of 80-percent recycled aluminum, it qualifies as an environmentally sound product and contributes to LEED certification for recycled content. The chair has a refined character and modern influence that can fit in easily with a variety of interior spaces. It is stackable up to 15 high and suitable for outdoor use.

Affordable Electric Snow Removal

The EverClear Radiant SnowClear™ System offers a cost-effective snow- and ice-melting technology that combines easy installation using modular panels, an electronic energy management system, and innovative controls providing the flexibility of zoned heating areas. Independent sensors mounted aerially and/or embedded in the pavement monitor environmental conditions. Output from the sensors is read by the energy management component, energizing the heating panels before any ice or snow accumulates. In most cases, the system runs off a home's available amperage, eliminating the cost of an electrical upgrade. Its affordability makes the convenience and safety of clear pavement more accessible to the general population. To estimate the cost, visit:

Environmentally Safer Treated Lumber

BluWood is a two-part coating system that protects wood products from moisture, mold, fungus, and wood-ingesting insects. It can be used in all wood-framing aspects of residential and commercial structures, and it can be handled, nailed, sawed, painted, and adhered to just like untreated wood components. This innovative, blue-colored lumber treatment is included in the GreenSpec Directory and is widely available throughout the United States and Canada.
