    Dubai · 2007.0110
Atlanta, Georgia-based Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates (TVS) has revealed its design for Dubai Towers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The four towers, ranging from 54 to 97 floors in height, are clustered in a form inspired by the movement of candlelight. The buildings will combine residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality functions as the centerpiece for The Lagoons, a new urban development. Completion of the Dubai Towers complex is planned for 2010.

    Boston · 2007.0110
The new FanZone sports merchandise store at TD Banknorth Gardens in Boston, Massachusetts, includes features that allow the store to switch between Boston Celtics basketball team and the Boston Bruins hockey team merchandise to reflect which team is playing on any given day. The joint-venture design team of ICON architecture, inc. of Boston and Partners by Design of Manchaug, Massachusetts, developed a rotating panel fixture for the perimeter system to allow store staff to change merchandise quickly and easily. The storefront also features a backlit acrylic panel system with changeable projected team logos and color lighting in yellow (Bruins colors) or green (Celtics colors). A seamless white rubber floor evokes the ice of a hockey rink, with nine-foot- (2.7-meter-) diameter basketball disks suspended from the opened-cell ceiling system above.
