KONE Deco™ Elevator Interiors Feature Marimekko Designs

The KONE Deco line of elevator interiors now features designs by textile- and clothing-design company Marimekko. Marimekko's decorative laminates join other KONE Deco designs, launched earlier in 2006. KONE Deco consists of replaceable wall-design elements for elevator car interiors, doors, and lobby areas. The decorations can be changed as often as several times a year. KONE Deco covers the full service from space design to material installation and replacement. Preselected and custom solutions are available. Pictured is Marimekko design "HO-HOI!" by Maija Louekari.

DUX of Sweden introduces its newest model, the DUX 8888 — the only innerspring mattress in the world that provides adjustable lumbar support to improve sleep quality. The DUX 8888 has a unique mechanical system, controlled by a crank, that adjusts the level of support targeting the lumbar vertebrae in the lower back. The easily removable crank is inserted at the foot of the bed. This system provides personalized support for the spine in its natural position.

    Stream Chair by Max Longin

German mathematician and designer Max Longin has introduced the "stream" chair, a series of four variations on a single design. His chairs follow a common grid, with playfully varied asymmetry in the stainless steel frame. This creates a rhythmic dynamic, especially when the chairs are organized in a group. The seat and back are upholstered and covered with soft leather in the color of your choice; the cheeks come in the wood of your choice.
