    Organic Concrete

The e-studio has developed a new material that bonds vegetal and inorganic in a single element. "Organic concrete" emerged through a series of projects in which the distinction between natural and artificial materials became increasingly blurred. Exploiting concrete's capacity to retain moisture, the material works like a battery in which the water is released during dry periods. Applied as a surface, organic concrete makes possible permeable, "living" surfaces, reintroducing a natural component in public urban spaces.

    Bilco Roof Hatches Are Bil-Guard-Ready

The Bilco Company is introducing a new feature for the company’s line of roof hatches. All Bilco roof hatches are now Bil-Guard-Ready, equipped with prepunched cap flashing to facilitate quick and easy installation of the Bil-Guard™ Hatch Rail System. Bil-Guard is a fixed rail system that provides a permanent means of fall protection for roof hatch openings. The system exceeds OSHA standard CFR 1910.23 fall protection regulations. The Bil-Guard is constructed of a durable, fiber-reinforced polymer material with corrosion-resistant hardware. Additional features include a self-closing gate, a quick-mount bracket, a pivoting sleeve for installation flexibility, and a standard 25-year warranty.

    Corvado Interior Door

CMI has added to its family of CraftMaster® Interior Doors the new smooth-surfaced Corvado™, a two-panel, square-top plank interior door. The Corvado has a distinctive groove and modified sticking profile that provides the rich feel of a traditional plank door. Corvado will be available in standard 6’8" and 7’0" heights and in passage widths from 1’6" to 3’0". Bifolds will be available for most standard opening widths from 2’0" to 6’0". Like all CraftMaster doors, Corvado is manufactured by CMI from molded, high-density fiberboard to resist shrinking, cracking, and joint separation, which may occur in wood doors.
