Marshall-Adams Hall, one of the oldest buildings on the Michigan State University (MSU) campus in East Lansing, Michigan, has undergone a $6 million historic rehabilitation. The building, constructed in 1902, is listed on the Michigan State Register of Historic Places. The historic rehabilitation and adaptive reuse project was undertaken by the architecture firm Lord, Aeck & Sargent. The project included the restoration of the building's exterior to its original appearance, restoration of its interior features, and the incorporation of new faculty offices, contemporary systems, and advanced technologies. The Marshall-Adams Hall Building project team includes: Robert Darvas Associates, structural engineer; Peter Basso Associates, MEP/FP engineer; and Fitzgerald Henne Associates, civil/ landscape architect.

The American Institute of Architects San Diego Chapter (AIA San Diego), recently awarded Architects Delawie Wilkes Rodrigues Barker the "Distinguished Service by a Member Firm" award as part of its 2005 chapter awards. The San Diego, California-based architecture firm was recognized for its dedication and commitment to advancing the common goals of AIA San Diego and for its involvement in a number of chapter activities. Architects Delawie Wilkes Rodrigues Barker employees Nathan Vandermeulen, Geoff Ward, and Joel Acosta received certificates of appreciation for their participation as part of the chapter's Archichat committee. Also, principal Paul Schroeder has been elected to serve as 2007 AIA San Diego president.

Mic Johnson, AIA, has rejoined Ellerbe Becket's Minneapolis, Minnesota office as design principal. Johnson has been associated with Ellerbe Becket for 14 of his 30 years of practice, leading design teams for some of the firm's most notable projects. He returns to Ellerbe Becket after three years as a principal of RSP Architects in Minneapolis. Johnson also has spent a number of years teaching graduate-level design studios at both the University of Oregon and the University of Minnesota.

Wright Architects of Chicago, Illinois has announced several promotions, including three new principals: Daniel J. Elkins, William Gamble, and Kenneth R. Wardingley. In his seven years at the firm, Elkins has worked as a project manager for commercial office, financial, and hospitality projects and has been an associate with the firm for the past five years. Gamble is NCARB certified, a past member of The Chicago Committee on High Rise Buildings, and was involved with The City of Chicago Building Planning and Life Safety Committee's rewriting of the Chicago Building Code. Wardingley has been with the firm for eight years, working first as a project architect and for the past five years as an associate.
