Solution to Last Week's Puzzler
Architecture Puzzler #273

Question

If you used aluminum screws to attach two brass elements in a shower room you are likely to have galvanic action, or corrosion over time in one of the metals. Which will tend to corrode, the aluminum or the brass?

Answer

The aluminum is the less “noble” of the two metals and is likely to corrode if there is enough moisture in the environment.
