    BUILD BOSTON TAKES PULSE OF CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

    One of the best places for design professionals to take the current pulse of the construction industry is at the annual Build Boston convention. Now in its 21st year, this far-ranging collection of workshops, symposia, exhibits, conferences, award galas, and trade shows attracted some 14,000 industry professionals in November 2005. Architect Evan H. Shu, FAIA will share his discoveries.

    GLOBAL WARMING: A CALL TO ACTION FOR ARCHITECTS

    Receding glaciers (causing rising sea levels and flooding) are only one visible symptom of global warming, caused by a blanket of greenhouse gasses that surrounds the earth and traps in heat. The ill effects now underway, if allowed to intensify over the coming years, will seriously threaten our planet. Architect and environmentalist Edward Mazria will explain the vital role designers can play in a solution.
