    Norris Design, a landscape architecture and planning firm with offices in Denver, Colorado, and Tucson, Arizona, has announced the expansion of its management team and the addition of seven new hires. Mark Kieffer, a three-year veteran of Norris Design, has been named a principal of the firm. In addition, the following professionals have joined the Norris Design team: Corey Haselhorst, Brian Kelly, Patrick Meyer, John Cameron Berglund, Ann-Marie Godfrey, and Sam Kessel, as landscape architects, and Katie Carney as graphic designer.

    Lisa A. J. Andrews, AIA and John R. Gregg, AIA, both associates with the firm GWWO, Inc./Architects, have earned LEED Accreditation. Andrews and Gregg join seven other key staff members who are also LEED accredited, including all four principals, in demonstrating the firm’s commitment to environmentally responsible design. Currently, GWWO is involved in the design of three buildings that are registered with the US Green Building Council and will seek Silver LEED Certification: a new Nature Center for Killens Pond State Park in Felton, Delaware; a new Learning Center for the Iron Hill Museum in Newark, Delaware; and a new Visitor Services Building for the Hammerman Area of Gunpowder Falls State Park in Gunpowder, Maryland.

    San Diego, California-based Lyons Warren is providing structural engineering and architectural design services for the remodel of the 8,570-square-foot (800-square-meter) C&J Kids Corporation, a daycare facility located in 4S Ranch in Rancho Bernardo, California. The $400,000 tenant improvement project includes the design of seven classrooms, an infant care center, lobby, offices, teachers’ lounge, and 12,000 square feet (1115 square meters) of play yard. Glenn Mouritzen is serving as principal-in-charge for Lyons Warren. Nutter Electrical Design is the electrical engineer, Murphy Mechanical is the mechanical engineer, and Drum Plumbing is providing plumbing design.

    HGA Architects & Engineers has announced the promotion of Creed Kampa, project designer, and Sean Collins, project manager, to associates. Kampa is based in HGA's Sacramento, California, office, while Collins works from the firm's office in Los Angeles.  Both are LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professionals.

    McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. announced the opening of a new office in San Diego, California. For 23 years McCarthy has been building major structures in San Diego including the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, and the recently completed Rebecca and John Moores Cancer Center for the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). McCarthy will open its new San Diego office under the direction of Ron Hall, a 17-year McCarthy veteran.
