Architecture Magazine and Architectural Lighting have announced several changes to the editorial staffs of both publications. Following C.C. Sullivan's resignation as editor of Architecture Magazine, Emilie Sommerhoff has been promoted to group editor in chief of both Architecture Magazine and Architectural Lighting. Abby Bussel is now editor of Architecture Magazine. Bussel will manage all content selection for the magazine and will be responsible for supervising all writers and also oversee Architecture’s relationship with contributing contracted writers. Elizabeth Donoff has been promoted to senior editor of Architectural Lighting. Prior to making the transition to publishing, Donoff spent 10 years working in New York City architectural offices.

Lisa Green has been appointed senior vice president and general counsel of the global architecture design firm HOK (Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, Inc.). Green joined HOK in 2000 as associate general counsel and was named assistant general counsel in 2004. Prior to joining HOK, she was engaged in private practice with the St. Louis, Missouri-based law firm of Evans & Dixon. In this role, she represented defendants in a wide range of areas, including personal injury, business disputes, professional negligence, and construction issues. Also promoted to senior vice president in the HOK Corporate Legal Group were director of risk management Jeff Montibeller and director of project management Bob Gillcrist.

R.D. Olson Construction has completed work on the new $45 million University Village Towers, located near the University of California, Riverside. The eight-story metal stud concrete University Village Towers complex has three structures: The Towers, an eight-story 217,000-square-foot post-tension concrete building featuring tiered architecture; the Garden Building, a four-story structural steel and lightweight concrete structure; and the THX Building. University Village Towers was designed by the Pasadena, California-based design firms Onyx Architect and Saiful/Bouquet Structural Engineers.
