Solution to Last Week's Puzzler
Architecture Puzzler #238
Question
What would you do if your mason, as directed, were to broach a special stone you ordered, so as to bifurcate it, and the stone broke in two?
Answer
You should probably thank him and pay the bill. As directed, he divided the stone in two (bifurcated it) by drilling a series of closely spaces holes and removing the material between the holes (broaching).
