Architects now have a strong, moisture-resistant exterior panel product with the debut of Extira®. This solid-panel treated wood composite provides rot and termite resistance previously not available with medium-density fiberboard (MDF), plywood, and wood. Available in a variety of unprimed panel dimensions and sizes, Extira is used for any nonstructural application that commonly requires wood or MDF. It is ideal for exterior millwork applications such as shutters, column wrap, and rosettes, and in interior applications such as around dishwashers, sinks, or other areas prone to moisture. It machines well, allowing easy sandblasting, routing, carving, priming, painting, and adhesion of other materials to it. |
