MARYLAND HOUSE OFFERS ALTERNATIVE TO MACMANSIONS
In an era when traditional neighborhoods are being gutted so that grotesquely oversized houses can be squeezed into normal-sized lots, one firm in Maryland is doing it differently. GTM renovated and expanded the home of firm founder George Myers, and in its detailing showed respect for the century-old neighborhood. Although the "new" house is much larger than the original, the historically detailed expansion is tastefully tucked into its site without imposing on the local ambience.
