OLD BUILDING DANCES AGAIN
In September 2004, the French National Dance Centre opened the doors of its new headquarters in Pantin, a suburb of Paris. This is the renovation of a 1960s administration building that had been threatened with demolition. The existing building, dominated by sculptural, exposed concrete had suffered from neglect over the years. Now the Parisian firm Atelier Robain & Guieysse has given a new expressiveness to the building, appropriate for the spirit of dance within. Architect and journalist Christian Horn will show us around.

"GREEN" BUILDING IN INDIA
CII-Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Center, located at Hyderabad, India, has just been honored as the first building outside the United States to earn the "platinum" rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. Notably, the building combines ancient practices with modern architecture demonstrating the validity of premodern architectural knowledge in today's construction environment. Next week Raj Jadhav will explain how CII-Godrej GBC is "green" in both structure and mission.
