REMEMBERING FAY JONES
Internationally renowned architect and educator Fay Jones died on August 30, 2004. His work had been honored by numerous design awards, including the prestigious AIA Gold Medal in 1990. Early in his career, he worked with Bruce Goff and Frank Lloyd Wright, and his design sensibility reflected their influence. Next week, Michael Cockram, a regular ArchitectureWeek contributor and friend and colleague of Jones, will pay tribute to the man and his work.

SURFACE MODELING IN HYDE PARK
July 2004 saw the official opening of a unique landscape project in London. The Diana Memorial, designed by Kathryn Gustafson and Neil Porter, combined groundbreaking freeform CAD/CAM production techniques with the traditional art of stonemasonry. Next week, ArchitectureWeek contributing editor Don Barker will describe the memorial and the design/ construction process.
