Villa Nautilus spills down a hillside overlooking the Bay of Acapulco to the northwest. The house's spatial bounty playfully adjusts to the irregular topography of this Mexican city. Rather than follow an unrelenting orthogonal grid of rooms and outdoor spaces, Villa Nautilus bends subtly as the hill cascades, adjusting the angles of its vertical walls to provide a variety of spatial experiences.

The house is entered from the southeast side, where one finds the front door near a two-car parking port — an unassuming entry into this collection of architectural surprises. Down a few steps from street level, one is introduced to the house through a small foyer that joins a compact bedroom suite offering access to one of the first of a series of expansive terraces.   >>>
