CONVENING WITH COLOR
The Palais des Congrès de Montréal, Québec is an expansion of an existing convention center that renews the life of its district and improves urban connections within the city. The colorful glass box was designed by a collaboration of Tétreault, Parent, Languedoc et Associés with Saia et Barbarese Architectes, Ædifica, and Hal Ingberg Architect. Nearly the entire southwest facade is made up of vertical panes of alternating colored glass, creating a multicolored skin of pink, chartreuse, blue, and yellow. Next week we'll look at the effect of all those colors on the building's interior and the adjacent streetscape.

WEB PORTFOLIOS
For many generations, the design portfolio has been an essential tool for students applying for scholarships, graduates applying for jobs, or professionals competing for commissions. The need for good design and clarity remains constant while fashion trends and presentation technologies change over time. Lately, many portfolios have migrated from paper to the Internet. Professor Harold Linton will explain how venerable design principles can be successfully applied to digital media.
