Architectural education tends to be strong on teaching conceptual aspects of design, without adequately preparing students for the realities of design development and construction. But a design studio at Tulane University encourages students to broaden their approach and, using Revit for modeling and documentation, address economic and cost issues. Next week Professor Ronald Filson, FAIA will show some of the results.

Next week we'll see what more Susanka has to say about pantries.

But controversies persist, and some may compromise Libekind's design vision. Next week we'll survey recent developments and assess the project's current status.
