In measuring lighting levels, why would you use "lux" instead of "footcandles"? What is the relationship between them?

Answer

Which term you'd use depends on where you're building. Lux is the international unit of light measurement; footcandle is the measurement more commonly in the United States. 1 footcandle = 10.76 lux.
