If, while inspecting a new masonry wall, you notice an inordinate amount of shrinkage cracking in the mortar, you would probably suspect the mason’s mortar mix used: a) too high a proportion of portland cement; b) too high a proportion of hydrated lime; c) not enough air entrainment additives?
