Solution to Last Week's Puzzler
Architecture Puzzler #129
Question
Not to be confused with the home planet of Superman, the element Krypton has what use in construction?
Answer
Krypton is used as a low-conductivity gas fill in insulating glazing. It offers superior heat resistance over the more commonly used argon gas, but its significantly higher cost limits its use.
